The pose itself is architectural: her hand presses against the jawline, not to rest, but to physically support the weight of her own intensity.

I used loose, frantic graphite strokes to create the 'shadow-woven feather crown' of her hair, representing the chaotic noise of the world. In sharp contrast, her face is sculpted with smooth, velvety graphite, an unyielding sanctuary of light and form. She leaves the viewer utterly captive in the profound, consuming fire of her stare."
